Weddings

looking for a wedding photographer?

Hi, I am Claire a wedding photographer based in Grand Junction, Colorado. My photography style is natural, bright and joyful, you might call it bright and airy or classic. I  am  available  for any type of wedding or event,  l have an easy going personality,  I don’t bend under the pressure of the day. I enjoy weddings, you might find me  running to find an umbrella for the bride in the rain and helping out with last minute details. I have photographed weddings in a variety of locations from Dunafon Castle in Denver to a  Lutheran Church in Delta.   Venues include Aarchway  Inn, Moab, Gateway Resort,  Colorado, Orchard River View, Wine Country Inn and Maison La belle in Palisade.  The Botanical Gardens, private homes and hotels in Grand Junction. I currently live in Clifton,   which is very close to  the heart of wine country in Palisade. This area hosts a variety of wedding venues with amazing views of the book cliffs.

Details & Getting Ready

I like photographing the  getting ready preparations and bridal details including the dress, rings and shoes, etc.  The venue and decorations, cake are all things you will want to remember in years to come. The bridesmaids  laughing together, getting hair and make up done  are moments they will enjoy to look back on.  The men getting ready can make for some hilarious photos!  I like to take individual photos of the bridesmaids and groomsmen since it’s a special  day for them too. During this time I can capture fun photos of everyone and photos of you in your dress, mom putting on your jewelry, the bridesmaids bustling and mirror shots.  These are photos that will not happen after the ceremony and should not be missed.

WEDDING Ceremony

I currently work solo, but carry two cameras, I like to use a zoom so I don’t block the guests view of the  ceremony. I am happy to photograph any style of wedding ceremony from an elopement on the edge of a cliff to a traditional church wedding. I have photographed weddings in barns, wineries, community centers, church, hotels and private homes.

Portraits

I often  hear people say  “where shall I put my hands, where do I look?”  I don’t think anyone naturally knows what to do in front of a camera.      People have said I make the process fun by helping direct them as they had no Idea what to do.  I aim to take the family portraits quickly so   working with a wedding planner or someone with  a list of family groups helps speed up the process.

I like to take one or two stand in a row traditional photos then have fun. It  just depends on how much time we have allowed for photos.  Let me know your creative ideas!  For bride and groom portraits I look to find an attractive background away from the crowd and take pictures for about 15 minutes at the golden hour.

Party Dancing & Exits

Party time! The time  after portraits and speeches is when guests start to  relax and have fun. I set up off camera flash on light stands and this is when you may see me on the dance floor  or wandering around looking for action.   A good DJ is  important to  encourage people on the dance floor and  light sticks help  create movement as people love waving them around. I will stay taking photographs until the sparkler exit or when the dance floor has emptied.

video| DRONE

I  am also available for  video,  I cannot do both photo and video at the same time  unfortunately it requires focus on one thing or the other to provide good footage. I use a camera stabilization gimbal and edit video in the same bright natural style.  I am  a certified FAA drone pilot and if a drone can be flown where you are getting married I can create some unique footage. Price for video starting at $1000 for 4 hours coverage.

Price I like to keep things simple by offering a full day package  8 hrs for $2000   covering  it all from getting ready to the sparkler send off. Booking a full day means you don’t  have to worry about keeping to a tight time frame and things  are always changing.   If your day is not a full 8 hours   I can create a custom package for you. I will  travel anywhere to photo a wedding, I add 50 cents a mile for travel expenses. I work solo but knowing other photographers in the area I can likely  find a second shooter if you would like one.

How many photos It is hard to say how many exactly but you can figure 50-75 per hour of coverage.

How long before we see photos  2-3 weeks but if I can get them done sooner I will, I hand edit all the images. I will upload highlights to an online gallery the next day.
