Nestled in the heart of the red rock canyons of Western Colorado, Gateway Canyons Resort is a hidden gem that offers a perfect blend of adventure and luxury. Located in the small town of Gateway, this resort is a gateway to a world of outdoor activities, and relaxation.
The resort itself is a masterpiece of architecture and design, with its adobe-style buildings blending seamlessly into the surrounding landscape. The attention to detail is evident in every aspect of the resort, from the luxurious rooms and suites to the world-class dining options.
One of the highlights of Gateway Canyons Resort is its extensive range of outdoor activities. The resort offers guided hikes and mountain biking tours through the canyons, allowing you to explore the beauty of the area up close. For those seeking a more thrilling experience, there are also options for off-road adventures, horseback riding, and even helicopter tours.
If you prefer a more relaxed pace, the resort has you covered as well. You can spend your days lounging by the pool, indulging in a spa treatment, or simply enjoying the tranquility of the surrounding nature. The resort also boasted a world-class car museum, showcasing a collection of vintage and rare automobiles that sadly closed in August 2023.
When it comes to dining, Gateway Canyons Resort offers a range of options to satisfy even the most discerning palate. The Entrada Restaurant serves up a delectable menu of Southwestern-inspired cuisine, using locally sourced ingredients to create dishes that are as delicious as they are visually stunning. For a more casual dining experience, the Paradox Grille offers a relaxed atmosphere and a menu of classic American fare.
In addition to its stunning natural beauty and luxurious amenities, Gateway Canyons Resort is also committed to sustainability and conservation. The resort has implemented various eco-friendly practices, such as using solar power and recycling programs, to minimize its impact on the environment.
With the stunning views all around you can’t go wrong for having your wedding here. I was invited to photograph the rehearsal and reception for Rocco and Aly’s wedding in August. The event was planned by Kosie Events and flowers delivered by Garvey’s Gardens in Grand Junction.
